For more than 40 years in Woburn, Hillside Florist has been a staple of the community, helping generations of families celebrate life’s happiest moments and honor its most difficult ones. Known for their beautiful floral arrangements, exceptional customer service, and commitment to excellence, Hillside Florist has earned the trust of customers throughout Woburn and the surrounding communities.
Owned by Anne and Charlie Hardy and led by Operations Manager, Chris Smith, Hillside Florist continues its tradition of quality with the support of an incredible team, many of whom have been with the business for years. Their experience, creativity, and dedication are evident in every arrangement they create.
Charlie Hardy’s impact extends far beyond the flower shop. A longtime community leader, Charlie has dedicated decades to giving back through his involvement with the Woburn Host Lions Club and as the longtime head coach of the Reading Memorial High School Boys Lacrosse program. During his remarkable coaching career, Charlie led Reading to more than 400 victories, multiple league championships, and two state championships. Earlier this year, Reading honored his legacy by naming the high school’s lacrosse field after him, a fitting tribute to the countless student-athletes and families he has positively influenced throughout the years.
For the Woburn Chamber of Commerce, Hillside Florist has been an extraordinary partner and supporter for many years. Charlie, Chris, and their team consistently go above and beyond to help make our events special. Throughout the year, they generously donate beautiful floral arrangements for raffles and giveaways, and every December they provide all of the floral arrangements for our Annual Celebration Gala,including more than 35 table centerpieces as well as the large floral displays that decorate the stage. Their generosity has helped create memorable experiences for our members year after year.
Their commitment to both the Chamber and the greater Woburn community is a reflection of the values they bring to their business every day. Whether they’re supporting local organizations, coaching young athletes, volunteering their time, or creating beautiful arrangements for every occasion, Charlie, Chris, and the entire Hillside Florist team exemplify what it means to be a true community partner.
It is no surprise that Hillside Florist was previously honored as the Woburn Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year, recognizing not only their successful business but also their unwavering dedication to giving back to the community they have proudly served for decades.
