We are thrilled to announce that Connor’s Kindness Project (CKP) has been selected as November’s Business of the Month by the Woburn Chamber of Commerce!
Founded during the height of the pandemic when Connor was just 12, Connor’s Kindness Project began as a heartfelt initiative to provide support and kindness to children who were facing hardships during an unprecedented time. Connor, with the support of his mother Erica and grandmother, launched this nonprofit with a mission to uplift the lives of children grappling with serious medical issues, mental health conditions, family crises, or those living in homelessness or poverty.
CKP’s signature program, the Kindness Kit Distribution, has touched the lives of many children, providing them with essential items and thoughtful gifts that aim to bring joy and comfort during difficult times. In addition to Kindness Kits, the organization has also created the Kindness Club, designed to inspire elementary-age children to embrace kindness as a core value, fostering a sense of community and inclusiveness among peers.
Connor’s belief that “kindness is contagious, good for your heart, and creates a ripple effect” is the cornerstone of CKP’s work. By encouraging acts of kindness, he emphasizes that everyone deserves to have joy in their lives, transforming a single act into a culture of compassion.
Connor balances his academic responsibilities at Pike School in Andover with his passion for hockey, where he plays at an elite level for the Boston Junior Eagles, and golf, all while maintaining his commitment to giving back. His maturity and foresight in launching CKP during such a chaotic time speak volumes about his character and vision.
Supporting Connor in this mission are two remarkable women: his mother, Erica Wright, and his grandmother, Sharon. Erica’s extensive experience as a senior manager at Cummings Properties brings valuable strategic insights to CKP, while Sharon, a seasoned educator, enriches the organization with her strong teaching background and advocacy for kindness. Together, they form a dynamic trio, dedicated to bringing Connor’s mission to life.
