Welcome 2020!

Join the Women of Woburn on January 15th for lunch, casual networking and the opportunity to meet Mary Cheyne, author, trainer and public speaking expert.

As a woman in business, you benefit greatly by improving your public speaking skills. Whether you’re speaking in a one-on-one meeting with a prospect or presenting to a group of potential clients, you need to be effective in getting your message across.

Common concerns you might face before & during a presentation or conversation can include: Do I come across as knowledgeable and credible? Am I being engaging enough and generating enough interest in my prospects? Can they tell I’m nervous? Do I sound too “salesy”?

This presentation is based on the Mary’s Best Selling book “Present” Yourself in Public Speaking – Tell Your Inner Critic to SHUT UP! And the Real You to SPEAK UP! You will receive effective tools to bypass your inner critic and allow your authentic and most confident self to shine through.

Break through to a new level of speaking that will get you noticed!

In this talk, you will learn:

  • How to speak powerfully & authentically so you will get noticed & win clients.
  • How to bypass your number 1 saboteur in public speaking, your inner critic.
  • How to own your power as an expert & have your brilliance come across in a conversation without sounding “salesy”.

Here are 5 reasons why networking is worth the investment of your time

A strong and active business network has advantages that can make your business grow and flourish.

Below is an excerpt from a discussion on the Succeed Group website of the 5 biggest benefits of business networking. You can read the full article here.

1. Opportunities
It is expected that networking will result in opportunities. You will however not know when or how they will happen. There are always plenty of opportunities that come from networking and in fact this is where the advantages of business networking are huge.

2. Advice
Networking is a wonderful way to tap into advice and knowledge that you would not otherwise be able to get hold of. Having like-minded business owners to talk to also gives you the opportunity to get advice from them on all sorts of things related to your business or even your personal life and obtaining that important work-life balance.

3. New business
This is without a doubt the most obvious benefit and the reason most business owners decide to participate in networking activities and join networking groups. Through networking you will build up a professional relationship with other business owners.  Since they will be networking with others as well, you will in time be connected to hundreds and sometimes even thousands of individuals.

4. Growing your personal profile
Being visible and getting noticed is a massive advantage of networking. By regularly attending business and social events, society will begin to recognize you. You are also more likely to get more leads and referrals as you will be the one that pops into their head when they need what you offer.

5. Friendship
Many friendships form as a result of networking because you are all like-minded business owners that want to grow your businesses. You meet and help each other regularly, so naturally strong friendships tend to form. You need to know someone has your back, that you have people who are there for you.

As a business leader or owner, it can be difficult to strategize your unique business challenges. Wouldn’t it be great to have a mastermind of fellow business owners and leaders to discuss the unique challenges and opportunities you face, like employee retention, engagement, and IT issues?

Facilitated by Electra Govoni of The Alternative Board, this event presents a great opportunity to experience a strategic countable with business leaders. According to statistics reported by Fast Company and Business.com, companies whose owners participate in mastermind groups like this enjoy revenues 19% – 43% higher than those that don’t!

Seating is limited,  please register as soon as possible.
