Come join Common Trust- Federal Credit Union as the host a morning Networking Event. The event will have coffee and light breakfast and will take place on June 25th from 7:30- 9 A.M.

Enjoy meeting new and old friends as you take part in casual networking and socializing. With this being the last event before summer, there is no better time to get out and start meeting new people.

For many of us, stepping into a networking event can be an intimidating proposal. At the Woburn Chamber of Commerce, we take pride in hosting events that are friendly and welcoming. Introductions are easily made and we always enjoy meeting new people!

Here are some tips on breaking the ice from Ivan Misner, author of Networking Like A Pro. In his article for Entrepeneur.com called, “Hate Small Talk? How to Break the Ice When Networking for Business”, Ivan has two main suggestions.

  1. Current Events: Even if you don’t have any interest in sports or the latest celebrity gossip, taking just a cursory glance at the headlines on websites like CNN, ESPN or People arms you with conversations starters for all ages.
  2. Ask Questions: Give the person you are meeting the opportunity to be the expert! Ask them about their business and let them do the talking. You might learn something interesting and they will enjoy being able to share more about their business.

The Woburn young Professionals are hosting their 2nd Annual Beer & Bocce Barbecue. They will be serving award winning IPA from the Lord Hobo Brewery, outstanding burgers and dogs off the grill from Dole & Bailey. Participate in the bocce tournament or enjoy the beautiful Tocci campus. They have amazing raffle prizes with baskets from each our event sponsors including: Tocci Building Corp., Dole & Bailey, Lord Hobo Brewery, Cummings Properties, Chowdaheadz and Liberty Bay Credit Union.

The Young Professionals events are a great place for area YP’s to meet and mingle. All Woburn Chamber of Commerce member business employees and invited to attend as well as their guests.
